Industry Experience and Innovative Thinking

Migration is not a single event; it is a clinical process. At BlueHalo, we follow a rigorous framework to ensure that your transition to the cloud is invisible to your customers but transformative for your staff.

Strategic Discovery & Inventory

We begin by deploying non-intrusive discovery tools into your current environment. This identifies every server, virtual machine, and database. More importantly, it maps interdependencies—showing us which applications “talk” to each other so we don’t break a critical link during the move.

The "6-R" Analysis

We categorize every asset into one of six paths:

  • Rehost (Lift & Shift): Moving the app as-is to the cloud. Fast, but doesn’t take full advantage of cloud features.

  • Replatform: Making minor adjustments (like moving a database to a managed service) to increase performance without changing the core code.

  • Refactor: Re-architecting the application to be “Cloud Native.” This is the most intensive but yields the highest ROI.

  • Repurchase: Moving from a perpetual license to a SaaS model (e.g., moving from an on-premise email server to Microsoft 365).

  • Retire: Decommissioning old applications that are no longer providing value.

  • Retain: Keeping highly sensitive or legacy data on-premise for now.

Landing Zone Construction

Before a single byte is moved, we build your Landing Zone. This is a pre-configured, secure environment within BlueHalo Cloud that includes your networking, identity management, and security guardrails. This ensures your data arrives in a house that is already locked and gated.

Pilot Migration (The "Sandbox" Test)

We move a non-critical application first. This allows us to test the connection speeds, security protocols, and user access in a real-world scenario without risking your core business operations.
